What type of tip should I use on my hiking poles?

The tips are the first point of contact between the pole and the ground. There are two types of tips: steel and tungsten carbide. We recommend carbide tips as they are stronger and less prone to breaking. These are safer because they grip the ground better and therefore help to prevent falls.

The tips can wear out quickly depending on the surface being walked on, and the ground is fragile and erodes when in constant contact with poles. Therefore, we recommend using tip protectors, which are rubber tips that cover the tip and have several benefits. The first is to cushion the impact against the ground; this point is important because we reduce the soil erosion caused by human beings. Some tips are even rounded to support the full flow of movement against the ground.

They also prevent the pole from getting caught in clothing or backpacks.
